Why belong to this professional organization? Are there any benefits?
The Ohio Association of Soil and Water Conservation District Employees (OASWCDE) was established in 1994 to provide educational opportunities, share information, and provide a platform for the local conservation district representatives to communicate with state and national leaders and affiliates. The OASWCDE works in cooperation with the Ohio Federation of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (OFSWCD) and the Ohio Soil and Water Conservation Commission (OSWCC).
All employees are members of the association. Dues paying members are considered active members and are eligible for discounted registrations for workshops, application for educational scholarships, and a specially selected membership gift.
The directors work on behalf of the employees to include both professional and personal development. In addition to the the benefit of having local representation at the state and federal levels, the association strives to provide professional development opportunities through workshops, roundtables, newsletters, and scholarships for members.
